The Brookes Academy team is proud to celebrate Katie Collier, Education Manager, Continuing Care & Support Services, who recently presented at the Australasian Rehabilitation Nurses Association (ARNA) Conference, showcasing Epworth HealthCare's innovative Transition to specialty practice (TSP) rehabilitation program.
Katie's presentation,"Rehabilitation Nursing Renaissance: Epworth HealthCare's Transition to specialty practice (TSP) rehabilitation program", highlighted the development, success, and impact of a program designed to build capability, confidence, and career progression for rehabilitation nurses. The program supports nurses across all stages of their careers through structured learning, simulation, clinical application, and professional development opportunities.
The presentation attracted significant interest from conference delegates, with strong engagement from rehabilitation nursing leaders and clinicians across the sector. Following the conference, numerous expressions of interest were received from organisations keen to learn more about the program and explore opportunities to participate.
Developed in response to the need for specialised rehabilitation education pathways, the TSP rehabilitation program has become a valuable workforce development initiative, supporting staff retention, clinical excellence, and improved patient outcomes. The program was also recognised at the conference as an example of innovative nursing education that can be expanded beyond Epworth to support the broader healthcare community.
Congratulations to Katie on representing Epworth HealthCare and Brookes Academy on the national stage. Her passion for rehabilitation nursing and commitment to advancing specialty education continues to make a significant contribution to the profession and the patients we serve.
