Program information

This two-day program is delivered using a combination of group work, reflection and hands-on activities to aid translation of key concepts into practice, with a core focus on simulation-based education.

Across the two days, you will progress through:

  • Day 1 – Designing for simulation: Effective simulation scenario design and building medium- to high-fidelity scenarios, including understanding the resources required.
  • Day 2 – Facilitating and debriefing: Facilitating simulation with confidence and applying contemporary models of debriefing, including strategies for managing difficult debriefing.

‍

‍

On successful completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Design effective, evidence-informed simulation scenarios that align with defined learning objectives and clinical context
  • Facilitate medium- and high-fidelity simulation scenarios with confidence, applying appropriate resources, equipment and environmental considerations
  • Apply contemporary models of debriefing to guide reflective, learner-centred conversations that translate experience into clinical practice
  • Manage challenging debriefing situations with skill and sensitivity, maintaining psychological safety for all participants
  • Evaluate and refine your own simulation and debriefing practice to continually enhance learner outcomes and clinical excellence

‍

Participants will demonstrate their learning through the design and facilitation of a simulation scenario, incorporating a structured debriefing using a contemporary model. Assessment is competency-based and completed with feedback from program facilitators to support translation of skills into practice.

‍

Participants receive a certificate of completion recognising 14 hours of CPD upon successful completion of the two-day program.
